To celebrate Carers Week 2010 we are holding two fun events for carers.
Games Day
On Monday 14 we are holding a games day at the Central United Reform Church on Norfolk Street from 10am to 2pm. If you're a wiz at chess, table football, scrabble, or dominoes or quizes, please come along and join us. There should be something for everyone!
Day of Dance
Back by popular demand, our Day of Dance will feature Nisha Lall running a series of workshops in a variety of dance styles, with lunchtime entertainment by our very own 'Cliff Richard'. This takes places on Wednesday 16 June, 10am to 2pm.
Lunch will be provided at both events.
If you'd like to come to either or both of these free events, please give us a ring on Sheffield 278 8942 to book a place.

Carers UK have launched their annual Carers Week survey, the largest survey of carers in the UK, and a crucial part of Carers Week, which takes place this year from 14-20 June.
The theme for 2010 is - A life of my own - and the survey, which should only take a few minutes to complete, asks about what you (and other carers) miss out on, that most people in society take for granted, and what needs to be changed.
We hope you have time to participate - every year carers tell Carers UK about their direct experience of caring and share personal stories of the stresses and strains; the ups and the downs of being a carer. This is a crucial part of the organsiation's campaigning and activities during Carers Week, including their work with professionals and politicians, and indeed all decision-makers.
The survey can be found at: Survey
Please do pass this on to other carers you know, also anyone who does not have access to the internet can call Carers UK on 0845 241 2582 for a form.

The Sheffield Mental Health Services Carers Group, together with Pilgrim Projects, have created a number of stories, told by people who use mental health services and those who care for them. These stories are intended to illuminate the experiences of people affected by a range of serious mental health conditions including psychosis, depression, anxiety and autism, highlighting the needs of those who suffer from such conditions, and of those who care for them. The stories were created in a Patient Voices workshop in July, 2009, sponsored by Sheffield City Council.
The videos are available at:
