About Us Carer Expert Panel Carer Expert Panel We have a panel of volunteers who are experienced carers and your voice within the Centre. They help make decisions, by working with us on new services, information and other processes, and use their own backgrounds to help inform us on how changes and developments impact you as a carer. They also are your point of contact to make suggestions, feedback about how we’ve performed and let us know what we could do better. If you want to contact them or find out more details, please email [email protected] We are particularly looking for younger carers to join the panel. The members of the panel are: Chris SterryChris introduces himself as follows: "I was a family carer for 40 years until the recent death of my daughter, but still have many interests regarding carers, so will continue to share my Expert by Experience knowledge and continue to attend meetings around carers and disabilities." Jane Cotterill"I've been on the Carers Expert Panel 4 yrs. I volunteered to join as I'd gained so much help and support from the Carers Centre. I've been a carer 15 yrs as I started caring for my Mum who had osteoporosis and later my Dad who had a knee replacement which was unsuccessful and he ended up not been able to walk and in a wheelchair." Liz NaylorI‘m a full time carer for my daughter who has a learning disability. I (and my husband) are her taxi drivers, launderers, caterers and all things in between. I’ve been a member of the Panel for several years and its a way I can add my experience to help formulate good practice and meet people who understand what it means to be a carer. Joanne CotesJoanne is new member of the panel and introduces herself as follows: " My Name is Johanne Cotes I have previously worked as a volunteer for the Community Connect Service which I really enjoyed.
