A carer's first contact with the Sheffield Carers Centre may be through our Carer Advice Line. This service is staffed by trained professionals who understand the pressures of caring and can help with any aspect of a caring role. They can provide lots of information on a wide range of topics such as:

• understanding how the social care system works
• your rights as a carer
• respite services and taking a break from caring
• benefits and financial matters
• other services available

We'll need to ask some details about the caring situation, but the service is completely confidential. The Carer Advisor will also ask a carer if we can add their details to our 'register' to join our community of carers.
